University Affiliated Programs (UAP) is part of the Staff Development Department at NMRC. UAP provides on-site field and laboratory experiences with special populations to University of Mississippi students from a multitude of academic course offerings. This partnership results in scholarships for NMRC staff to enhance careers by taking course work at Ole Miss.

Hundreds of UM students are supervised annually for academic credit with real life field and laboratory experiences correlating with curriculum needs. These hands-on experiences include practicum, student teaching, internships, and research in a variety of disciplines including business administration, criminal justice, education - elementary and special, educational leadership/counselor education, health, exercise science, and recreation management, health care administration, family medicine, journalism, nutrition/dietetics, occupational and physical therapy, pharmacy, psychology, social work, and speech language pathology.

Additionally, NMRC provides student experiences to more than a dozen colleges and universities both in and out of state. On average more than 1,000 students received supervision from NMRC professionals located throughout NMRC’s 32 county catchment area.

Students honor HIPAA and other regulations, provide evaluations, and receive feedback from NMRC clinical supervisors.
