The Team Coordination (Interdisciplinary Programs) Department is comprised of a highly motivated group of interdependently operating qualified intellectual disability professionals (QIDPs) whose goal is to ensure that the licensure requirements, as outlined by the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), are met for the clients of North Mississippi Regional Center (NMRC).  NMRC is licensed as an Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF/IID).

To meet this goal, Team Coordination/Interdisciplinary Programs works across multiple disciplines to verify that the five components of active treatment are completed for every individual served. The five components of active treatment as outlined in the State Operations Manual Appendix J- Guidance to Surveyors: Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities are:

•Produce accurate, comprehensive functional assessment data, within 30 days after admission and at least annually thereafter.

•Prepare an Individual Support Plan (ISP) which includes opportunities for individual choice and self-management and identifies: the discrete, measurable, criteria-based objectives the individual is to achieve; and the specific individualized program of specialized and generic strategies, supports, and techniques to be employed.

•Implement the (ISP) to provide interventions and services in sufficient intensity and frequency to support the achievement of objectives.

•Document through accurate, systematic, behaviorally stated data about the individual's performance toward meeting the criteria stated in ISP objectives serves as the basis for necessary change and revision to the program.

•Review and change "at least annually" the ISP and comprehensive functional assessment. The comprehensive functional assessment of each individual is reviewed by the interdisciplinary team for its relevancy and updated, as needed. The ISP is "revised, as appropriate."

By ensuring that these five components are met and also adhering to the remaining regulations, the Team Coordination/Interdisciplinary Programs Department work daily to fulfill NMRC’s mission of, "Enhancing the abilities and promoting the independence of person with intellectual and developmental disabilities by providing quality care, comprehensive services and family support, with dignity and respect."
